THE DOG-OWNER CONNECTION deals comprehensively with the prevention and correction of behavior problems in dogs. We believe that we, as humans, choose to adopt dogs into our families, and thus are responsible for helping them make a successful adjustment to our world. We must earn their trust and respect by establishing a relationship in which our dogs are bonded to us and happy to follow us as their pack leader. In doing so, we create an "invisible leash" that keeps them with us, learning from us and wanting to please us. And, if there is a behavior problem, we must correct the cause of the problem . . not the dog.
